Where to Eat in Greyton

The Post House
There’s been a marked step up in the offering here, with hearty yet refined cuisine the trademark nowadays. Foie gras and oven-roasted quail grace the starter options in the evening, while mains like pork belly and dukkah-dusted sweet potato, or on-the-bone fillet alongside thick-cut crispy wedges ensure you won’t go hungry. Breakfast and lunchtimes offer lighter bistro fare, including excellent handmade burgers.
An impressive selection of wine at fair prices. The variety is small but there are interesting offerings by the glass, and French bubblies for splashing out.
The service at The Post House restaurant is a warm welcoming , paired with excellent knowledge of the menu. A stylish dining room in one of Greyton’s oldest buildings. Ask for a table near the fireplace in winter.
We look forward to meeting you.

Oak & Vigne
Situated in the beautiful and peaceful setting of picturesque Greyton, under majestic oak trees, is the Oak & Vigne Café, a warm and vibey espresso, sandwich bar, eating and meeting venue and delicatessen.
The Oak & Vigne’s winning qualities include friendly and personalised service, sumptuous breakfasts and lunches, and a wine cellar with the best selections from the top local estates.
With it’s off-beat interior and colourful verandas this high profile “Greyton icon” has become a landmark in the Overberg, and is undeniably the social and cultural heart of Greyton. It has become a place where locals and visitors become acquainted, where the Cape Town social set mingle, and people-watching is an important activity.
Coenie, Claudia and team look forward to welcoming and serving you.
“The Oak & Vigne is the flavour of the day amongst the Greyton trendset – you’ll probably see half of Cape Town there on a Saturday morning” – Paul Leger’s Snob’s Guide to Budget Getaways

Searle's Trading Post
Adding to the already eclectic choice of shopping and dining spaces along the tree-lined lanes, just crossing the threshold into Searle’s is enough to convince you that this space is special.
The welcoming ambience is obvious from the first second. Everything is for sale and although the arrangement of goods appears random, everything has been carefully placed to invite you to linger, or just to sit down and enjoy a bite to eat or sip a refreshing drink. There is always a roaring fire in the open fireplace in winter, and this area can be closed off to create a private dining or meeting room. It also boasts a small stage for dinner theatre or presentations.
Searle’s Trading Post portrays the heart and soul of “real” Greyton. Our motto – it’s a way of life – reflects the Searle’s philosophy.
